Christmas 2014

So, a post Christmas post :) I definitely had an off year this year..... I was just not really into it. Not Scrooge-y but just kind of 'whatever". No cards, only a few batches of cookies...... I did however, manage to make the vintage ornament wreath I've been wanting to make....

I had 15+ boxes of ornaments that we inherited from the Mister's Great Aunt. At first I felt bed using them, but I have more than I could ever use on a tree and most are not in great shape from being kept in the basement for 30 or 40 years.

I started by wrapping a foam wreath with vintage tinsel garland. Another thing I hesitated to do but I had yet to use it otherwise so...... why not?

I started gluing around the outer edge, then worked my way in. I had only a couple little do-dads to add.... a little deer and a couple snowmen. I'll have to collect some more to add next year ;)

I decorated the house, did the presents..... even managed a great light show not far from my house.

Sometimes I do a red and white tree, sometimes a black and white tree. This year it was traditional. Well, traditional for me....... white tree and all the ornaments I have been gifted over the course of my life :)

I even made the Jackelope festive:)

Here's hoping everyone had a very Happy Holiday!!!

There's always next year;)

Dog Sitting

We have a new short term boarder here at the ranch.......

We're watching him while his mom recovers from a bad car accident :(

What a cutie pa-tootie huh??

We've definitely got a full house now with three dogs and two cats ;)  It took a week or two for everyone to settle down, but I think it's all good now. He's a pretty mellow dog so the cats adjusted much quicker than I thought they would.

NYC at Christmas

Here in NJ we've gotten the first couple little snowfalls.

I'm not a big fan of winter, but if it's gonna be cold, it might as well look pretty :)

Every year I go into the city to see the tree and the windows. this year, I got tickets to the Radio City Christmas Show.
First, a little stroll through Bryant Park....
It was soooooo cold!! But at least it was nice and sunny....

One of my favorites.... the giant Christmas lights.....

 Ready to see the show.......

I'm not gonna lie..... the Rockettes are pretty damn amazing.
Not so easy to get a decent photo though...especially since I had a super big dude in front of me ;)

I have actually never gone during the day to see the tree or windows. I thought it was not going to be as good as going at night but it was still really nice.

 Rockefeller Center.....

 The windows at Sacks......

The windows at Bergdorf Goodman...... Always my favorite!

The windows at Macy's......

As usual, NYC at Christmas time never disappoints.

Stay Warm,
